The Historic Elitch Theatre will be a place for a diverse cross-section of students, artists and audiences to meet, work, play and enjoy performances. The restoration of the Historic Elitch Theatre aims to create a welcoming public space and provide a home that will serve as the heart of Highlands; a neighborhood as diverse as Denver, and a place where underserved youth can discover the arts.
Our nation’s most disadvantaged schools are losing their arts programs despite research that proves students who are engaged in the arts have higher academic performance and lower dropout rates. The Elitch Center for Arts Education will fill this void by providing underserved youth access to training and performance in the performing arts. Through the arts experience, students earn the satisfaction of working as part of a team and gain confi-dence to explore, to create, and to reach their full potential.
These leadership gifts are fundamental to the restoration of the Elitch Theatre. We will recognize your generous support in all program materials. Founder Circle Donors will be eternally recognized in the renovated lobby of the Elitch Theatre.

The Elitch Theatre has received a grant for $425,000 to restore the interior. Funds will be released when 25% ($100,000) of the award is matched. Just $35,000 remains to reach the goal that will open theater doors for classes and events. This cultural icon’s rebirth is a significant catalyst to the continued economic and cultural sustainability of NW Denver. In an area that has boomed for several years, there lacks a vital focal point for the cultural life of these diverse communities.
